Peterborough Regional Health Centre adopts new logo
by Reg Watson
The Peterborough Regional Health Centre has unveiled a new logo as it takes on a new look for the new hospital opening next year.
The new logo — which essentially combines a medical cross with the H in PRHC — was unveiled at Wednesday night's meeting of the hospital board.
It will be used for both the hospital and its equipment fundraising arm, the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation, replacing separate 10-year-old logos used by both.
The logo was designed free of charge by Neil Hamilton of Hamilton, who handled research and focus group testing, along with Cameron Taylor of Nerve Media and Matt Stimpson of Four Walls Design.
The final design was chosen after consulation with more than 150 community members and medical staff.
The new logo is being used right away but it will take a year to phase it in.
The new $195-million hospital on Hospital Drive is slated to open in spring 2008.
