National Magazine Awards Foundation Announces Reminder for tickets to the Gala on June 15th, Scott Feschuk to host this year's Awards Gala, Our new logo to celebrate our 30th Anniversary.

he National Magazine Awards Foundation (NMAF) is nearly sold out of tickets to the 30th Anniversary National Magazine Awards Gala on June 15th at the Carlu in Toronto. There are tickets available for seats in the Concert Hall's balcony ($90), and for entrance to the Round Room ($75). All tickets include dinner and a wine reception courtesy of Indas Ltd. Tickets may be purchased online at www.magazine-awards.com.

The complete list of finalists for this year's National Magazine Awards is online at www.magazine-awards.com. On April 23 in Montreal, the NMAF announced the finalists for awards in 37 categories from more than 2,100 entries across Canada. The three finalists for the coveted title of Magazine of the Year are L'actualité, Explore and The Walrus. The NMAF will present Gold, Silver and Honourable Mention awards on June 15th, 2007 at the Carlu in Toronto.

The host of this year's National Magazine Awards Gala on June 15th will be author, columnist, and eminent funnyman Scott Feschuk. Scott has written for The Globe and Mail, the National Post, CBC TV's This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Maclean's, and is a principal with Feschuk.Reid, a speechwriting and communications firm for senior executives.

The NMAF recently unveiled its new logo to coincide with its 30th Anniversary in 2007. The award-winning designers Hambly & Woolley Inc. of Toronto created the new logo. “We're delighted with our new logo's energy and simplicity,” said Kim Pittaway, President of NMAF. “With its stylized 'C' for Canada and its fanning magazine pages, Hambly and Woolley have created a visual identity for us that we're confident will carry the Foundation into our next 30 years.”

On April 23, the NMAF announced that the winner of this year's prestigious Foundation Award for Outstanding Achievement is Neville Gilfoy, President and Publisher of Progress magazine and its French-language counterpart Progrès. Gilfoy has been behind the launch of other several magazines, including Atlantic Insight and Eastern Woods and Waters, and is the founder of Face to Face, one of the most unique entrepreneurial conferences produced by any magazine in North America. Gilfoy's service to the magazine industry in Atlantic Canada has earned him the respect of his peers, and the NMAF is honoured to present him with this award.
