District Unveils New Look
A new look for the District of Maple Ridge was unveiled today at Council Workshop. A new website and brand has been adopted that better reflects the District's organization today. The process of completing this took place over a period of approximately twelve months involving employees of the District as well as public input through a series of focus groups that were organized.
“Our old website and brand served the District very well but had become dated,” said Councillor Ken Stewart. “We have been talking about doing something now for at least a couple of years so it's nice to get this done and end up with a refreshed and modern look.” As part of the website update, the District was able to eliminate roughly one-third the number of pages of the old site by streamlining and better consolidating much of the information.
The new brand has integrated well into the website and has a meaningful story behind it. Its elements reflect what Maple Ridge is best known for - the Golden Ears Mountains, green, open spaces, agricultural history, the numerous water courses in Maple Ridge, fresh air, and maple leaves that connect to the previous brand.
The old brand will be replaced gradually over the next year as opportunities arise, for example, when District employee business cards or letterhead need to be re-ordered. Similarly, other changes will take place including new decals on District vehicles and signage. The District's new website address is www.mapleridge.ca.
