Explorers' 15th season in Siouxland begins with special logo

The 2007 American Association season will mark the 15th season of Explorers baseball in Siouxland and the Sioux City Explorers are beginning the year-long celebration with the unveiling of a new, 15th Season in Siouxland logo.

The special logo incorporates the Explorers logo along with a number of historical landmarks associated with the City of Sioux City. Landmarks included within the new logo are: Sergeant Floyd Monument, City Hall Clock Tower, Orpheum Theater, Veterans Memorial Bridge, Gateway Arches to Sioux City, and War Eagle Monument. The anniversary logo was designed by Absolute Screen Art in South Sioux City. Absolute Screen Art is the primary supplier of clothing and merchandise for the Explorers.

“We wanted to come up with a unique logo to commemorate an important milestone for our franchise and for baseball in the Siouxland area,” said General Manager Shane Tritz. “We are extremely thankful for the tremendous support we have received from the City of Sioux City, members of the business community, and beloved fans. Explorer fans will have the opportunity to see this logo on team merchandise, giveaway items, and much more during the upcoming season. We look forward to extending our appreciation to the Siouxland community throughout the 2007 season and future years.”

This will serve as the first step in the club's celebration of 15 seasons in providing Siouxland with the most affordable family entertainment. In the coming months, the X's will post a survey on www.xsbaseball.com to ask Explorers fans to vote on their fondest memories during the first 14 seasons of Explorers baseball. Fans are encouraged to send in stories and photos of their favorite memories from the past 14 years.
