OEF gets new name, logo ahead of Angel Oregon
he Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum is changing its name to the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network on Monday and will adopt a new logo (right).
The nonprofit group, which supports startup activity and small businesses in Oregon, was founded in 1991 as a chapter of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Enterprise Forum. OEF, now OEN, has nearly 3,000 members today. It plans to change its Web site to www.oen.org, but hasn't yet.
The first big event under the organization's new banner will be the annual Angel Oregon competition, Feb. 22. This year, OEN expects to award at least $200k to the startup company with the most promising investment pitch. The funding comes from private investors around Oregon.
