New Logo, Seal Reflect Changing Rogers
City officials say new designs reflect new city hall

ROGERS — It’s a new modern building and it has a new modern logo, but those favoring the old logo with its historic train aren’t to be disappointed.
Wendy Shumate, assistant to Rogers Mayor Steve Womack, said the new logo — a simple angular design of city rooftops — is a reflection of the new City Hall. The contemporary building at 301 W. Chestnut is the former home of the Perry Butcher architecture firm. It was dedicated in a public ceremony Sunday.
The logo isn’t the only change. The city also has a new seal that includes an image of that historic train and the downtown area.
Shumate explained that the logo will be used for some of the building’s signs, including those on the exterior doors and room labels within the building. The seal will be part of a new city flag. Three flagpoles stand in front of the main entrance on the building’s south side. One remains empty until the city’s first flag arrives.
The old city logo was designed to commemorate the city’s centennial celebration in 1981. It was more than 25 years old, and Rogers was ready for a change, said Mayor Steve Womack, adding that it was appropriate timing to reveal the new logo with the move to the new building.
“Logos are the kinds of things that change as the city changes,” Womack said. “This one is a simple stylish logo that sends a very progressive message.” (…)
