South's snappy new look
by Doug Robertson
South Adelaide is venturing into a brave new world with a new logo to flag its “resounding strength and confidence”.
The striking US sport-like “Panthers” logo is sleek and designed to hook the youth of the south.
General manager Ben Kavenagh said the logo deliberately linked with the US style of branding which is popular with young people. (…)
The logo's modern look portrayed the sharpness and speed of the modern-day footballer, Kavenagh said.
“The Panther's head is striking, tough and shows aggression,” he said. “We see this new image as a way of being more relevant, innovative and appealing to the people of the south.
“We want to see the kids of the southern community proudly displaying their Panthers colours at our games, at their local football training sessions and even down the streets.”
