
New global microsoft brand
Microsoft Corporation has chosen Kontrapunkt to help in the creation of a new global brand called Microsoft Dynamics, a line of business and management solutions. The brand is visualized through Kontrapunkt's winning logo concepts and branding elements designed for the user interface of the Microsoft Dynamics line of products. The new strategic brand is already a key part of the Microsoft family.
Kontrapunkt worked closely with Microsoft's creative leadership in Seattle, USA, to develop an identity with a unique and distinct logo, yet clearly linked to Microsoft's visual universe.
Jeff Boettcher, global creative director of Microsoft says: “I was impressed by Kontrapunkt's approach and creativity; the symbol ideas for Microsoft Dynamics helped us create a powerful and differentiated mark, uniting all our solutions in the business-to-business field.”
Project manager Bo Madsen at Kontrapunkt stressed the idea of capturing functionality. “Our aim was to integrate the four Microsoft colors with a sharp, graphic format to designate something both rational and instrumental, and we came up with the three arches concept,” he said. With this in mind, his team worked hard with Microsoft to get things right and can now enjoy the pleasure of seeing the logo side by side with the classic Microsoft brands Windows, Office, Visual Studio, MSN and X-Box.
