United Steelworkers unveil new logo, talk about goals
A bill to secure workers' rights will top the United Steelworkers' agenda this year, union leaders said Wednesday.

Union officials spoke about their priorities as they gathered near their headquarters to swear in new leaders and unveil a new logo.

The officials said the new logo - blue and yellow with the letters USW underlined by smaller type that says “Unity and strength for workers” - represents the addition of 350,000 members who were recently added through mergers and continued organizing.

The mergers have combined to make the USW the largest union representing workers in the industries of steel, rubber and tire, paper and forestry, aluminum, brick, glass, oil refining, chemicals and mining, the union said.
