Family Winemakers launches web redesign
Welcome to Family Winemakers of California's redesigned web site. It's been seven years since our last redesign and not only has web technology changed, but the association has, too. The new design, including our new logo, is reflective of our desire to engage our members in new ways and reach out differently to those that visit our site for information or as a portal to many of California's finest wineries.
One of the first things you'll notice, besides the new look, is how we've simplified the navigation for visitors. Based on our experience you're looking for a few fundamental things — as members you're looking for the members-only page to update data and find out about important association information, as visitors you're looking to see if you can buy wine from California in your state and who is legally set up to sell directly to you. Others are looking for information about FWC, the current status of its tastings, or what issues the association is working on for members. (…)
New logo taps into association values
In a world dominated by branding it's critical that associations ensure that their audiences can pick them out of the myriad of competing groups. As Family Winemakers of California launches its redesigned web site it's also unveiling a new logo to signify the maturity and key values of the organization. The outline of a wine bottle represents the nature of our members business, producing premium California table wine. Its clean and simple lines underscore the structure of the organization and how it implements its mission on behalf of members.
FWC's new logo communicates the importance and influence of the association, and, at the same time, captures the essence of the family winemaking tradition in California. Fifteen years has elapsed since the formation of Family Winemakers of California. In that time, the association has grown tremendously as the representative of California's small wine producers in the corridors of the Legislature and key regulatory agencies. FWC has rung up some significant gains on behalf of its members and the industry in opening new wine sales channels. It's time for the logo to reflect the evolution of the organization.
With its elegant and streamlined appearance, this logo presents the Family Winemakers of California as an upscale and venerable association, steeped in tradition, but not bound by it. The color, a rich deep red, at once calls to mind the hue of a find red wine, while projecting an aura of power and sophistication. The new logo was designed by ToyRat Imagery, Inc., an Alexander Valley-based graphics and design firm with extensive experience in branding.
You'll see our wine bottle on the FWC web site, woven into our corporate identity program and highly visible at our tastings throughout California in the coming years.
