MISC launches new brand identity
Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Berhad, the national shipping line of Malaysia, today launched its new name and logo. The new corporate identity was launched by its Chairman, Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Hassan Marican in Kuala Lumpur.
Now to be known simply as MISC Berhad, the new identity projects the image of MISC as a dynamic and vibrant organisation. Accompanying the name change is a new logo, which is evolutionary and dynamic, underpinning MISC's strong branding and continuity created over the years. One of the most striking elements of the new logo is the star icon that represents a beacon and guiding light in the face of challenges ahead. The close typographic assemblage adopted in the logo displays the inherent equity values and lasting market partnerships that have propelled MISC to greater growth.
The formulation of the new corporate identity also reflects the transformation of MISC into an energy-focused global maritime transportation and logistics company. Among MISC's major forays into the global energy transportation business are the acquisition of American Eagle Tankers (AET), its entry into the Offshore Floating Facility business and the expansion of its LNG transportation business worldwide. These have provided MISC with a stronger foundation to be more competitive in the global energy market.
