My Brand Project

The concept
The My Brand Project is an artistic reflexion based on the concept of brand influence and identity mirror. This project wants to create a space of exchange and self-confrontation around brand promotion mechanism.
My Brand, is a brand, a logo who can receive any other logo or brand form a personal mind projection. People who will see the works of the designers, they will be placed in front of their own identity. Why? The people will put is preferred brand in the logo My Brand, the he’s filled on the website www.mybrand.com (first step of the project, now closed) , so the one he prefers at this time. This action will create an identity mirror mechanism where the brand is the reflection of the people identity.
Everyone in his life take part of the uniformisation of the individual in this world where brands are everywhere. Eat, think, wear or look, all these actions are directly linked with brands. If anyone wants to realise that there is no “Brands No Man’s Land”, everyone has to be confronted with his own brand universe.
This artistic project being created around the concept of brand’s influence, his graphic representation has to be very clear, neutral and adaptative. The My Brand Box is the perfect representation of this concept. You can put inside whatever you want: software, a tee-shirt…
The project www.my-brand.com
The first step of this project took part on the web between February 18th 2004 and February 18th 2005, on the website www.my-brand.com. Everyone who has connected to this website had the opportunity to fill in a form with his name and his favourite brand. A data base has stored all these informations during one year. This virtual space, has as objective to create a area of exchange.
The Exhibition
The second step will take place between September 23rd 2005 and October 15th 2005 at the gallery The Lazy Dog in Paris. More than 30 graphic designers were commissioned to create a A2 poster: 123Klan,
