The Ontario Trillium Foundation - Visual Identity Standards

Excerpt:
Introduction
A new corporate identity standards program, developed under the leadership of the Communications and Public Affairs Department, has been established to provide a consistent visual presentation of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The program is an integral part of our goals to enhance branding and communicate powerfully with our stakeholders and Ontarians.

We have developed a unified corporate identity that is to be applied consistently to all communications produced by or for OTF. This manual has been prepared to ensure that all OTF internal and external communications are consistent in their visual presentation. Over time, concerted use of the standards will strengthen public awareness of OTF. In addition to setting design standards for the placement of the organization’s corporate signature, it should also increase the time and cost efficiency of the design and production of all communications. Such consistency is a critical factor in our ongoing efforts to build awareness among the varied audiences of OTF. (…)

Elements of the Corporate Signature
The corporate signature is composed of two distinct components that must always appear together. They are the graphic icon and the logotype.

The Graphic Icon
The corporate signature includes a stylized White Trillium, the official flower of the Province of Ontario. Through the use of this familiar icon, OTF effectively ties its programs and activities together in a unified visual image that is clearly and immediately recognizable and associates OTF with its funder, the Province of Ontario.

The Foundation’s Logotype
Within the corporate signature, in association with the graphic icon, OTF’s logotype consists of the words ‘The Ontario Trillium Foundation’ and ‘La Fondation Trillium de l’Ontario’. It is set in a version of the Copperplate typeface.
