EDF unveils its new visual identity
(…) EDF has not changed its logo much over the past 60 years. It was last modified almost twenty years ago. From 1987 up to today, the logo has been characterised by a closed, square geometry in the colours of the French flag: blue, white, and red, poorly adapted to
unifying group subsidiaries.

The new identity, which uses a more versatile design, affirms EDF's desire to open up to Europe, to customers who will soon be completely free to choose their energy supplier, and to new shareholders.

The new logo - illustrated by a symbol with five moving components - suggests the action of a turbine and embodies the Group's commercial and industrial dynamism.

Its calligraphy is an illustration of diversity: diverse energies, trades, customers, employees…

Its colours, blue and orange, are a reminder that EDF is an industrial player, endowed with a real command of technology, that provides its customers with vital energy and a sense of comfort.

EDF will now use a lowercase “e” in its name to express that is both nearby and technological (“e” for electron).

The sound identity, an essential element of this new image, was specially created for use in the company's commercial and institutional messages to various audiences.
