
SunTrust to Introduce New Logo
SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced today that is introducing a new corporate logo that will start being visible on building signs, advertising, marketing materials, suntrust.com and all other company communications as early as April. Signs will be rolled out geographically over the next 24 months. The new logo features a new “sunburst” graphic above the SunTrust name.
According to Craig Kelly, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for SunTrust, the new logo provides an updated look and greater uniformity to the company's identity in all marketing channels. In the retail branch setting, the new signs will make branches more distinctive and easier to find in a cluttered sign environment.
“The addition of the sunburst design to the familiar SunTrust name brings a new energy to our logo,” said Mr. Kelly. “It provides a more complete representation of the character of our company - warmth, energy and a comprehensive financial services institution. The new logo will be more visible and distinctive in our highly competitive marketing environment, and will invite a new focus on the breadth and depth of SunTrust's capabilities.”
Installation of the new signs will begin with the conversion of recently merged National Bank of Commerce and Central Carolina Bank branches and office buildings in April, primarily in Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and expand across the company's footprint in phases over the next two years.
