The Corporate Design of “Dusseldorf International” Airport (Germany). Not so much content, only some text and graphic-downloads.

Excerpt:
Whoever seeks a unique position in the marketplace, must present themselves decisively and unmistakably. Our corporate design is the elementary basis of the construction and development of the “Dusseldorf International” brand.
Apparent contrasts harmoniously united
In Dusseldorf you will discover an array of contrasts that might appear to form disparity, but nevertheless coexist and ultimately contribute to the attraction of the city: “Altbier” taverns and cocktail bars, Rhineland “Sauerbraten” and Sushi, world exhibitions and regional associations. Analogous observations can be made at the airport: for example, the business traveler in the terminal crosses paths with the kegel club on their way to Mallorca. People from around the world are occupied at the Dusseldorf airport. Ostensible disparities are harmoniously united. This characteristic leitmotif for Dusseldorf and also for the airport is reflected in our entire visual presentation: our name, logo, color scheme and typography unite ostensible disparities.

Using five profile criteria, we have defined characteristics we want the public to associate with the name “Dusseldorf International”: we want to be service-oriented, friendly, cosmopolitan, safe and trustworthy. They define our communication and are intended to characterize the image of the airport, give it a profile.

The name
The name “Dusseldorf International” is our name brand and our logo. It stands for the regional relationships of the airport as well as the cosmopolitan nature of the corporation and its personnel. Our contacts reach to the farthest corners of the earth. “Dusseldorf International” is understood in all international languages and is therefore easier to remember, even though its spelling in the various languages varies.

The colours
Blue is a color in which airports like to present themselves. Blue stands for the heavens, the air and flying. For our positioning, we have consciously dissociated ourselves from this color. One crucial role of color, we feel, is for the expression of spirit. The bustle of an airport is exciting and busy. Nowhere else can you find a greater variety of people from around the world with a greater variety of destinations - this is the real milieu you find yourself in at the airport. So, why not reflect this diversity with color? Green, red, yellow, orange and gray are the colors of the Dusseldorf International. The primary colors red and green, adjacent on the color wheel, are not used in this combination by any other airport in Germany, thus setting the Dusseldorf International apart from the rest. Also, as the colors of the state, NRW, red and green represent the airport's connection to the region.

The Font
Similar to our primary colors red and green, both of our house fonts “info” and “concord nova” are entirely different in character. Nevertheless, they complement each other formally and aesthetically in a harmonious manner. They round out the overall presentation of the Dusseldorf International.
