Excerpt:
Welcome to the new corporate identity guidelines for the University of Kent. These guidelines update the advice published in the University Design Guide, last printed in 1995. Since then several factors have affected the way we see ourselves as an institution.
Firstly, the establishment of the University at Kent at Medway, the increased use of the Tonbridge Centre and the centre in Brussels, and the new proposal for a Transmanche University have encouraged the University to change its name to become simply The University of Kent. This change officially takes place on 1st April 2003.
The most noticeable result of this change is a new generic logo, which all staff and departments are encouraged to use in publicity material, except where the content is specific to one campus or site.
The name change has also resulted in the University's domain name changing from ukc.ac.uk to kent.ac.uk. Electronically this change will be phased in over a couple of years, to be completed by September 2006, but web and email addresses will be published with the new domain name with immediate effect.
