The NUS Identity Style Guide

This identity web site aims to help the NUS community apply the NUS identity system correctly and consistently. As NUS globalises, it is vital that a co-ordinated and unified image is projected. Consistent application of the new identity system across the University will strengthen brand name recognition both at home and abroad.

Introduction

In July 2001, NUS President Professor SHIH Choon Fong unveiled a new NUS corporate identity. The new NUS identity was launched to create stronger name recognition for the University in its growth as a leading university in the global arena.

In order to achieve and maintain name recognition, consistency, frequency and repetition over a sustained period of time are critical. Therefore, it is crucial for the University and all its sub-units to adopt and apply the identity correctly and consistently. The number and type of variations presented to external audiences also need to be clearly defined.

The identity system seeks to produce a unified look for all NUS academic, research and corporate units through greater consistency while offering some flexibility for exceptional circumstances.
