New logo for Bank of New York
by David Wells

The Bank of New York, the oldest bank in the US, will today unveil a new logo at its annual analyst and investor meeting in New York City.

The marketing campaign is part of a larger strategic plan that includes providing new risk analysis and outsourcing services to institutional investors, delivering a broader array of financial solutions to investment advisers and high net worth individuals, and expanding its local market capabilities throughout Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Bank of New York has completed 86 acquisitions during the past decade to boost its presence in global custody, trade execution and clearing, corporate trust and asset management.

While the bank hopes the new logo will help it win new customers for these businesses, it will retain its burgundy logo for retail bank branches in the New York City metropolitan area. David Wells, New York
